'Taking cues from a diverse range of stimuli offered by life in the Top End, Bryan Bulley in his 20-year practice has created a plethora of imaginary worlds inhabited by creatures great and small, human and animal and in-between. In addition there is an incongruity in the fantasies, as they provoke laughter and empathy through exaggerating the familiar, but often suggest, as well, menace or alienation.'
